THE SNOW GODS SMILED UPON US,
. . . .AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOYCING!
Well, well, well, I was going to try and rip out a quick entry before my trip last week. As it turned out, we got smoked at the end of the day and I was unable to complete the entry.
So here I am Monday morning, still contemplating what a glorious trip it was. We left late Thursday night and got into Hurley around 11:30pm. It was dry and warm (around 40 degrees). We drank unitl 2am then headed back to the hotel. As we crashed, the Mozz man wondered it we would indeed get snow. It was funny, because as we were watching the news in the lobby, wondering out loud if we were going to get snow, the clerk muttered "Dont bet on it. . " What a dumb bitch! When we got up at 8am, there was already 4" of fresh on the ground!!!
Needless to say, it was a great day, Long powder runs, ankle to shin deep. Drops into piles of soft powder. It just couldn't get ANY better! I was stoked beyong belief - it was a great way to start our trip.
We drank late again that night and then got up and decided to try somewhere else. We spent the day at Indianhead (about 15 min from our hotel) and had another great day. Indianhead had longer, groomed runs that made for more smooth riding all day.
All in all, the trip was a success, we drank ourselves silly again and crashed, knowing we had such an incredible trip. The drive back was a breeze. By the time we got out of Ashland, it was dry and sunny till we got back to Minneapolis.
We both agreed that we had found a great gem in Whitecap and agreed that the Days Inn was the place to stay, Next year will be even better!
Oh well, back to grind - I'll have more this week about work, my serach for a new job and how simply awesome things are right now. Positivity is all around. . . The Mozz and I kept asking ourselves if it could really get any better? Plenty of snow, great riding, fun nights. . . who knows?
In any case, its good to back home and sleep in a familiar bed.
More later this week on the start of Spring, ERIKS, and what promise the summer holds. . . .
TOAST!
