A NEW DAY
Tis Tuesday - or if your German like me, it would be Dienstag. So one of my favorite skating sites Platinum Seagulls is down today and there are a few rumors swirlling around as to the cause. Oh well, patience is of the the essence in cases like this.
Not much going on, my hunt for work continues. I'm still employed at MCU, but the offers and interviews I've gone on have not done anything for me. I want out of the wireless biz, and outside sales is not all that exciting for me. Been there, done that. I've had the stress and lived under the quoatas. I can do it - but usually at the expense of my hairline and heavy alcohol intake - which carries its own shit.
So the things in the news are the Isreali's finally offed the second in command of Hamas. Thier "spiritual" leader Ahmed Yassin in a brillant missle attack. I guess they wanted to make sure that they got him, huh? Now all the Hamas leaders are vowing revenge and more terror attacks at suicide bombings. Of course Isreal has marked their entire leadership for death and will not wait for more attacks. It would seem that Isreal is tired of the terror and has launched a massive offensive to wipe Hamas out - no prisoners, no survivors. All I can say is, WOAH!
Oh yes, and who could forget tricky Dicky Clarke. The former terror czar that just happened to write a book about how he "warned" Bush about the 911 attacks. Funny Mr. Clarke, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU DOING FOR 8 YEARS UNDER CLINTON?? The fact that Bush "botched" the war on terror is absurd. This guy is bucking for a promotion and hoping that Kerry wins so he can get his old job back. I'm just glad everybody is calling this guy out and showing him for what he is - a coward and an opportunist.
So what else is new? Nothing, My Gopher hockey squad pulled their season from the ashes and made into the final frozen five. Man, if they could take the National Title again this year - that would be insane!
Oh yeah, the basketball tourney is going on, so who cares? Maybe Vegas and some rubes doing their brackets, in hopes of winning the elusive office pool.
Oh yeah, we had our all brands clinic this past Sunday. Not a good night to have it. I stayed out late (12:30 ro so) and drank a bit too much. Even though I stopped drinking at 10:30pm and was drinking water the rest of the night - it was a lot of fun. It's cool because you get to chat with the guys that make the bikes and the R&D guys. Cannondale had their number one engineer and second in command show up to highlight their new six13 bike. the guys in our shop got a chance to ride it and they were all blown away by it. Super stiff in the bottom bracket, and as one sales person out it, "It just lunges forward, you get out of the saddle, and it literally feels like it's pulling away from you." But alas, that was pretty much all they had in their bag of tricks. Now Specialized, I was continually blown away by their marketing and targeting. With such a huge segment of the population easing towards retirement, they have concentrated their efforts on providing comfort and performance in all their bike lines - especially their road bike line. These guys are absolutely on top of the curve. After seeing and hearing what my customers ask for, they are poised to have a very good season - that's for sure.
So that's all I got for right now. Mo laters brah!
